dan & grace

On my most recent trip back to Chicago I was able to photograph this stunning couple. They just so happen to be my brother-in-law and his wife. Believe me when I say that this couple is just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. It's easy to see that after 4 years of marriage, this couple is still in love. I had such a blast spending time with them during this session. They were up for anything and willing to humor me when I had an idea.

flying by

My sister-in-law once told me that the life of a mother is full of long days and short years. I think I did not truly understand what this meant until Evie came along. Now with Elise here, it couldn't be more true. I can't believe my baby is 2 years old and my newborn munchkin is no longer a newborn but already 4 months!

Evie...this girl...well, let's just say she's ready to be an adult, or at least she thinks so. It may be a "terrible two's" trait but "little miss independent" insists on doing everything herself. "Me do it!" almost comes out as a reflex these days. Evie is a quick learner but sometimes has some difficulty doing things on her own which results in much frustration and tears. My sweet little firecracker can often be found playing in my makeup drawers these day. She struts out of our bathroom donning generous amounts of lipgloss carefully applied on her lips. She looks up at me with those big brown eyes, her face beaming with pride, smiles and says, "I have makeups."
"Yes, you do!" I reply. Sometimes I just can't get enough of her. Nowadays, amongst the chaos of rearing two small children, I find myself torn between wanting them to grow up and stay little. All along the way, I'm doing my best to put these memories onto paper so I don't miss a beat.

gorgeous gabby, spring edition

During my last trip to Chicago, I was hoping the weather would cooperate with me and beautiful Gabby and I could head outside for a Spring themed shoot. This year, March came in like a lion and came out like a....well, lion. Hopefully April will have its act together and bring showers and flowers because this photographer is ready to head outside! In the meantime, I bring you gorgeous Gabby who was such a delight and really showed off for the cameras, once again.

gorgeous gabby

If you know me, you know of my infatuation with Matilda Jane Clothing. This clothing line, in addition to being unique and absolutely beautiful, brings people together. As a case in point, I met Gabby and her lovely mother via Facebook in the process of buying and selling Matilda Jane Clothing. While in Chicago, I was lucky enough to spend a morning with them enjoying their company. Gabby was such a delight to photograph! She was super playful, cooperative, and a great sport throughout the long shoot. You could tell this sweet girl had a ton of love for her mommy, grandparents, and of course, her dolly.

Thanks for being such a delight, Gabby!
